A Big Day!
A lot will be going on at the church on Sunday. It’s Rally Day, so everyone is invited to join us in Grace Hall to hear about Sunday School classes and enjoy a breakfast provided by the Fishers/Seekers class. The breakfast is a gift for all, however, everyone is invited to give, as they are able, to a love offering for Kimmy Hutchinson. Kimmy is a third grader who had to withdraw from WA at the beginning of the school year when she was diagnosed with cancer. For now, her family is focusing on her treatments and getting her well. Certainly, we want to pray for this child as she endures this time. In addition, any funds collected will be given to the family to help offset these unexpected costs and hopefully make things a little easier for them in the days to come.
Following breakfast, we will gather for worship in the sanctuary and our new officers will be ordained and installed as they respond to God’s Word and our message for the day. It is always humbling and heartwarming to witness disciples of Christ who say “Here I am Lord. Send Me.” Finally, to top off our big day, the Kingstree Community Youth will kick-off their Fall activities with a bang on Sunday afternoon! It will be a big day and a good day to get back into the swing of things at WPC. Please make plans to join us. Also, mark your calendar to join us for supper on Wednesday, September 11th. We will honor all our first responders in the Kingstree community for their service and take time to remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 as well as those who worked tirelessly to respond to the needs of fellow Americans on that terrible, tragic day.
Peace, Josie
