Be A Part
I am not a big fan of crowds. I don’t like people invading my space. So, don’t ask me to go to Death Valley with a capacity of 81,500 or Williams Brice stadium of 77,559. I’ve been to the Masters golf tournament and loved it. But I am not going back. I don’t feel like hearing somebody screaming, “Go in the hole.” Let me sit in my man cave.
We are going to celebrate a “crowd” this Sunday. Except, Luke calls it a multitude. We are going to celebrate with fellow lovers of Christ who lined the streets into Jerusalem and together with disciples of 2,000 years ago, we are going to sing hosannas. In his earthly ministry, Jesus found himself in crowds often. On Palm Sunday, Luke tells us there were a “multitude” of people lining the street. Let’s be part of a multitude, not just part of a crowd. Multitude has a common purpose and despite the size there seems to be intimacy. On this Palm Sunday come and be part of the multitude. It’s going to be great!
Have fun, David
