Kicking off a New School Year
At the start of this new school year, our church family will gather in worship this Sunday to pray for and bless our students, teachers, and school staff. Our children will bring their backpacks—some brand-new, others well-worn—all filled with the tools of learning and discovery. Students, teachers, and school staff will bring their keys as we pray for their safety and the sacred spaces they help create for students every day.
As a congregation, we are asked to pray for wisdom, patience, curiosity, and protection. We ask God to bless each backpack as a sign of the journey ahead, and each key as a reminder of the doors that have been opened through teaching and learning. Together, we offer encouragement and love, sending our students and educators into the new year wrapped in the grace of a community that walks with them in faith.
As a church family, being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, we will gather items for our “Backpack Blessings” ministry for the children in our community who are less fortunate than our own.
