Spreading Kindness Like Confetti
Have you ever been outside and tossed confetti up into the air to see where it will land? If the wind happens to blow, those tiny bits of colored paper just might drift. I am always astounded at just how far they meander! Thinking about the image of confetti drifting in all directions, I was struck with ways that we can do the same through our actions. In particular, our actions of kindness. That thought led me to a sermon series entitled, Spreading Kindness Like Confetti, which will begin Sunday, the 29th, and continue through the first Sunday of November. Focusing on the Book of James, each week we will dive deep into ways that we can be kind towards others. Since we will emphasize ways we can spread kindness through the series, I thought it would be a good idea to find ways to turn our kindness into action. Laura helped to make special cards for all of you, which we will hand out every Sunday. They are “Kindness Cards”. We would like for you to spread them far and wide in the community. Here’s how they work: when you do something kind for someone, please hand that person a Kindness Card. Ask them to pay your kindness forward by doing something kind for someone else. When they do so, ask them to share the card with the next person. And then, encourage them to do the same as well. Think of the card as a little piece of confetti that keeps drifting through the community. The more that we share kindness, and the cards, the more we are able to flood the community with actions of compassion, patience, and most of all, the love of Christ in Kingstree, and beyond! I am looking forward to this sermon series and ways we can be confetti to our community. I hope that you do as well!
Peace, Josie
