DeQuan Lasane

DeQuan Lasane joins the staff of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church as its new Organist/Pianist/Choir Director.  A graduate of Florence Christian School, he is completing his studies for a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance at Francis Marion University.  At FMU DeQuan has served as a collaborative pianist for choirs, soloists, and other universities.  He was a pianist for the University Choir, Men’s Choir and Women’s Choir.  DeQuan is a member of the American Guild of Organists and held a chair in the Florence Symphony Orchestra as a violinist. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and has directed theatre, most recently as the musical director and pianist for “Ain’t MisBehavin” at the Florence Little Theatre.

He comes to Williamsburg from St. Mary the Virgin Mother Catholic Church in Hartsville where he was music director and organist.  He has served other churches including Covenant Presbyterian in Charlotte, NC, and Darlington Presbyterian.  A native of Georgetown, SC, now residing in Camden, he teaches, piano, voice, and strings at the Arts Center of Kershaw County.
