Useful Information
Recently, a friend and I were hanging out on a cool afternoon. As a plane flew over, my friend immediately pulled out his cellphone and informed me the plane had taken off ten minutes ago from Charleston and was flying to Atlanta. From there the plane was going to Rome. I nodded, thought for a minute and then asked him, “Why clutter up your brain with such useless information?”
Are you thinking about taking that trip?
Maybe your girlfriend who dumped you is on that plane.
I bet your golf clubs you lost twenty-five years ago are on it.
Your brain is so full of useless information, what is one more piece.”
I’m currently preaching on the The Commandments. Some people may think they are a list of useless information. You think, “I know I’m not supposed to do those things, why do I need to hear about them again? Why fill my brain with useless information?”
Because there is nothing useless about them. You think “Thou shall not murder” is just about killing somebody. It is so much more than that. So come to worship at 10:00, preceded by a delicious breakfast at 9:30. If you stay awake, I guarantee you will learn something.
Just in case you forgot, we are in a big, brick building located at 411 N. Academy St.
Have Fun, David
