Different Gifts For a Specific Time

This week, I am preaching from the fascinating book of Romans, focusing on chapter 12, verses 1-8. In these verses, Paul writes about the variety of gifts given to each of us for building up the church. Some of the gifts are:

• Prophecy
• Service
• Teaching
• Generosity

Please don’t take this as being trite with the Word of God, but this Sunday we are having a covered dish lunch after church. Many gifts are needed to make it happen.

• The gift of service to set up and serve
• The gift of hospitality, welcoming
• The gift of cooking
• The gift of generosity to provide food.
• The gift of EATING. If we didn’t have people with healthy appetites, the use of the other gifts would be a waste.

This Sunday, right after church, please bring a salad or dessert to go along with all the other food the men of the church are preparing.  And please, bring your appetite.
