Reasons We Moved Back to Kingstree
First and foremost, we moved back to Kingstree after eleven years because we felt God was calling us—just as we did in 2005, not long after I was out of diapers. It’s the same call that led us to Lumberton, though you have no idea how hard it was to leave Kingstree behind.
We returned to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church because of the deep sense of community at its heart—a true expression of Christian love. Yes, we may have our differences: garnet or orange, red or blue, lake or coast. But here, the love of Christ rises above it all.
We came back to WPC for its rich tradition of worship—like the Sacred Sounds concert this past Sunday, the upcoming Community Christmas Cantata, the joyful music of Christmas, the loud Hosannas of Easter, and Youth Sunday, when we learn from those you’ve helped grow in the faith.
And last—but certainly not least—I love to eat. Where better than here? You’ll have your chance this Sunday, a Holy Day when we ordain and install a new class of officers. After worship, we’ll share a covered dish lunch. The church will provide the meat, but we need some folks to dust off the instruction manual in your oven and bring a side or dessert. It’s a great chance to add a few well-earned pounds and to show gratitude for our outgoing officers—while celebrating those who’ve stepped forward to serve in new ways.
See you Sunday. Bring an open spirit and an empty stomach.
Have fun, David
